According to the PMR Foreign Minister, official working meetings of the President of the Republic and other Heads of government bodies, and legislators will be held here, round tables and conferences will be organized.

The Official Representation of Pridnestrovie has opened in Moscow today. The President of the PMR with his wife, senators and deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Pridnestrovian, Russian, Abkhazian, South Ossetian and Nagorno-Karabakh diplomats, social activists, experts, and scientists attended the ceremony.

The Pridnestrovian Representation first appeared in Moscow in 2005. Its functions were then assigned to the Cooperation Center “Pridnestrovie” – a public organization officially registered in the Russian Federation. From the beginning of 2012, the activity of this structure was discontinued, however, there is still need for Republic’s representation. This is confirmed by the numerous appeals of Pridnestrovian citizens residing in Russia.

In the framework of his visit to the capital of the Russian Federation, the PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vitaly Ignatiev, met with the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Gubarev. Ambassador-at-Large in the rank of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Ruslan Slobodenyuk, Deputy Director of the Second Department of CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsyn and Assistant of Sergey Gubarev, First Secretary Arif Hajiev also attended the meeting.

Addressing journalists, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Miroslav Lajcak recalled that Slovakia has been chairing the OSCE since January 1. “Last week I presented our priorities in Vienna, and today I am here. This is a sign of how seriously we take our role”, the diplomat said. According to him, Slovakia is counting on an effective chairmanship.

The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Slovak diplomat Miroslav Lajcak is in Tiraspol. This visit is the first in his new capacity (Slovakia has been chairing the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe since January 1 this year). Earlier, Miroslav Lajcak represented the European Union in the format of the “Permanent Conference...”.

Leonid Manakov is the Head of the Official Representation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Russian Federation.

Address: Moscow, 11 Povarskaya St., bldg. 1, office No. 35 (Arbat district).

The tasks of the Official Representation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic are as follows:

- to assist Pridnestrovian residents in establishing socio-cultural, socio-economic and other ties;

- to maintain direct contacts with the authorities in Moscow, interact with other civic organizations;

The Official Representation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Russian Federation will be headed by Leonid Manakov. He was appointed to this position by Decree of the President of the PMR.

The PMR Supreme Council Commission for Foreign Policy approved the candidacy of Leonid Manakov.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted a meeting between the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the Head of the IOM Mission in Moldova, Lars Johan Lonnbaсk, who succeeded Antonio Polosa last autumn.

At a meeting in the President’s office, Vitaly Ignatiev told Vadim Krasnoselsky that the PMR Foreign Ministry received an official notification of the planned visit to Pridnestrovie of the Slovak Foreign Minister, OSCE CiO Miroslav Lajcak. The Head of the PMR Foreign Ministry called the upcoming meeting “a good opportunity to synchronize watches, determine plans for the coming year,” and the Permanent Conference – a working advisory platform with international participation.
